Eating in Sabie There is a diversity of Restaurants in and around Sabie. The three which we currently recommend are all within walking distance of Wayfarers. For a very good traditional restaurant meal which also has some exotic South African dishes, try The Wild Fig Tree. You can sit inside or outside. They are now also serving excellent Pizzas, at a very competitive price. Opposite is The Woodsman, with a good menu and plenty of atmosphere, and sport on large screen televisions. When the weather is good, you can eat outside on the deck.
In The Courtyard near Petena's Pancakes is Attilio's Steak Ranch, where the food is good and plentiful, at very reasonable prices! BREAKING NEWS! We have just held this years MTN Sabie Classic , which took place on February 25 and 26 2012 in Sabie, and was the first leg of the 2012 UCI World MTB Marathon Series. This Series consists of 11 Events Internationally, and this is the first time that an African race has been included in The World Series.

THE ROADS AROUND SABIE. The road to Nelspruit, from Long Tom Pass, has been resurfaced, and the roadworks are finished, except for a crew who are improving the roadside drainage near the Long Tom end. The road is now excellent, with Cats Eyes the entire distance, and all the lines have been repainted. There are no potholes for the entire distance between Sabie and Nelspruit, using the R37. The road to White River is in good condition, and is recommended for driving at night, as there are excellent cats eyes. However there are some bad potholes starting to appear, near White River on the way back to Sabie. Look out for Speed Traps coming into Sabie from White River, near Harmony Hill, and also leaving Sabie for Long Tom near York Timbers offices. A new place for trapping has recently surfaced, 21 kms from Sabie, on the Long Tom Road. The road to Hazyview from Sabie can be split into three sections. The first part is the Forestry section and is in surprisingly good condition, the second sector is The Plantation section, and here the road starts to deteriorate, with some bad potholes, and this state of affairs continues into the third segment, namely The Hospitality section, right through to Perry's Bridge. Heavy summer rains have again wreaked havoc on this road, with approximately 40 large potholes in each direction. In Sabie itself, there are a number of poor stretches of road. Unfortunately the Old Lydenberg road to Lone Creek Falls was in a shocking state of disrepair from the fourway stop to York Timbers, but a section near Glass Bungalows has been resurfaced. Once past York Timbers sawmill, the road improves. Sixth Street, near the Woodsman Centre also needs care and attention, whether walking or driving, and Kerk Street, past the Police Station is one to avoid..
